Engine


NEW * Modified cylinder with revised exhaust port timing (timing changed from 95 to 93 dig. BBDC).
NEW * New timing map for the fuel injection and ignition system reduce exhaust emissions without sacrificing power output and improve power characteristics.
NEW * The engine is equipped with OMC's Ficht Fuel Injection System (FFI).
NEW * Special cylinder heads with reconfigured combustion chambers mount D.I. injectors.
NEW * Special pistons with recessed crowns.
* Expansion chamber exhaust system with resonator reduces exhaust back-pressure for improved performance and lower noise levels.
* Large water-box muffler is constructed of sheet aluminium. Compared to conventional construction, this increases rigidity and reduces "shell noise". Together with the resonator, the water-box muffler's large capacity reduces exhaust noise levels.
* Durable cast-iron liner sleeves are inserted during the casting process (not press fit afterwards) of the cast-aluminium cylinder block for increased structural integrity of the entire cylinder block.
* Crankcase reed air induction system for high intake efficiency.
* Efficient three-into-one exhaust manifold utilises optimal exhaust-pulse effect for incredibly strong low-speed torque output and an awesome top-end power curve.
* Cooling system works in conjunction with a water-temperature sensor located on the exhaust pipe to limit engine rpm to 3,500 whenever cooling water temperature rises above 95�C.
* Water jackets encase the exhaust pipe, exhaust manifold and the circumference of the exhaust chamber, to reduce engine noise and lower the temperature of aluminium components for increased durability.
* The starboard-side bypass outlet visually alerts rider that the cooling water is circulating through the engine.
* The oil pump cable is connected to the throttle cable so that oil output more accurately matches the engine's needs.
* An oil filter is located beneath the oil tank filler cap.
* Sensing air pressure and air temperature, EMM controls ignition and fuel supply and marks an excellent combustion at any environmental.
* When air temperature inside the hull climbs too high, the igniter compensates by advancing ignition timing to avoid power fade.
* Most aluminium-alloy engine parts are clear-coated after painting for maximum corrosion resistance.

Propulsion


* The incredibly versatile hull and jet pump design and rear ride plate mean the 1100 STX D.I. can accelerate quickly and reach planing speed very easily.
* Oval-edge, 3-blade, cast stainless steel impeller for strong acceleration, high efficiency and low cavitation. Tough cast-stainless steel aerofoil is less likely to suffer damage, helping to prevent cavitation erosion.
* Special vanes on the pump inlet smooth the flow of intake water to the high-performance impeller.
* Separate scoop section improves sealing effect and reduces maintenance; utilisation of guide vane / trim seal system.

Hull


* Rugged deep-V hull with deep forward section and strakes for reduced wave shock and superb handling performance over a wide range of riding conditions.
* Triple Kawasaki Splash Deflector (KSD): A lateral strip on the forward section of the hull dramatically reduces water splash, especially at speed and in rough water. The 1100 STX D.I. offers one of the driest, most comfortable rides on the water.
* Sleek keel line reduces friction while enhancing manoeuvrability and rider control.
* Front inlet shape optimises water inflow. Rear of water inlet is smoother for reduced resistance.
* Extended spray strip facilitates rear-end grip and bow lift.
* Sponsons on the outer rear edge of the hull ensure optimum planing and add to cornering performance, enabling the craft to hook up and turn smoothly.
* Aerodynamic form follows the canopy line of the Ultra 150, combining a stylish bodyline made from Sheet Moulding Compound (SMC) for toughness and durability.
* Hand-laid FRP hull features a durable high-gloss gel coat for extra strength and rigidity.

* Extra-large, watertight storage compartment (72.2 litre capacity) in the front of the hull.
* Compartments (2.6 litre capacity) provided fore and aft of the seat for stowing small items.

* 54 litre capacity fuel tank gives long-range touring capability.
* Recessed bow eye for easy towing.
* Twin adjustable rear-view mirrors.
* Comfortable two-piece separable seat complements the overall design and uses urethane material for extended riding comfort.
* Easy-to-read extra-large digital display. Instrumentation includes speedometer, fuel level and oil level gauges, a digital clock that measures time, hours elapsed and total running time.
* Oil and temperature warning light warns rider of low oil level and excessive engine temperature.
* Magnetic, theft-deterrent main ignition switch helps prevent unauthorised use.
* Wrist lanyard connected to the engine stop switch automatically stops the engine should the operator fall overboard.
